On Episode 16 of Dreamer’s Den Podcast, Gary Johnson of the Cecil Classic dropped in to discuss his recipe for marketing success.
Gary’s Signature strategy is his program called The Marketing Masterpiece. It’s how he starts the working relationship with each of his clients. He conducts an audit to see which area of the business needs attention (audience, promotions, branding, etc.). Gary relates it to each of the areas of marketing coming together over time to create a masterpiece.
In his own words:
“No one will ever have the same vision, same starting point or ending point — but at the end of the day, they have their masterpiece. Whatever that may be.
You can have all these fancy tools, but at the end of the day what’s your strategy? Tools come a dime a dozen. It’s what you’re doing with those tools that matters. That’s what The Cecil Classic is all about.”
The company looks at the process and how these tools will improve that. They focuses on copywriting to efficiently get the client’s message across. Strategic planning, consulting and auditing are also their specialties. The audit process takes a 30,000 feet view of the business to turn opportunities into strengths and makes strengths work even better.
Gary recommends focusing on your strengths and outsourcing the rest. He focuses on revenue growing activities. Concentrating on your unique skills and outsourcing your weaknesses will result in a better business process. Ultimately the client can zone in on more money-making activity.
As far as clients at The Cecil Classic, Gary prefers to work with service-based industries. He works with many photographers, accountants and markup artists.
